Soy beans and rice 002

Rice and Soy Beans with grated carrot

Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients

1 cups short grain rice (1/2 white, 1/2 brown)
50g soy beans
50g carrots (2 nedium sized carrots)

Instructions

  1. Wash the rice as normal (see how to wash rice). Then add water up to level 1 for White Rice.
  2. Get the soy beans out their shells and peel off any “inner shell coating” from the beans. Then add them to the rice and water
  3. Make sure the exterior of the cooking bowl is dry, put it back into your rice cooker and close the lid. Then select the “White Rice” option and press start.
  4. Once the rice is ready, grate your carrots.

Prep time: 30 minutes.
Cooking time: 50 minutes.

Tip: Getting the soy beans out of their shells takes a bit of work. I shell them and then drop them into a bowl of water. This makes it easier to peel off the think film that covers each bean.
