Aaaah Bleach (or Bleach03 ). My first experience with this band was at Trash Bar in Brooklyn. I didn't know whether or not I will like this band for I have never heard of them. Luckily Margalo was kind enough to invite me, what was waiting was one hell of an adrenaline rush. I bought this self titled record right after the show, now here I am reviewing it. Bleach's self titled offers a variety of music, from the metal opener "Kuropen Bigaku Tenshi-Chan Kangaemashita", the millitary-march like "Sun-Dance (Moon-Dance)", suddenly jumping into a ska-punk "Canary Teikoku no Gyakushuu". They even slow the music down with "Chousen" before droping a nuclear bomb of a song, the grindcore-ish "Raiko-Kareki ni Hana wa Sakanai". Although the songs are extremely varied the album is not all over the place. they maintain a sound (We can call this factor X) that brings all the genres together into a signature Bleach sound. The best part about this album is not only the songs well written, but they are also well-played. The three girls retain skillful command their instruments, which makes listening that much more interesting. If you like raw, loud and abrasive music, this is a record for you.
Favorites: Kuropen Bigaku Tenshi-Chan Kangaemashita, Canary Teikoku no Gyakushuu, Nils, Arigato Gozaimasu.
Score: 7/10
